Used glycol is hazardous waste and is collected by waste management companies. It has a high water content with a low energy value, resulting in a destruction process more focused on the disposal of a hazardous waste than energy recovery.
RECYCTEC has designed a method to recover the glycol to its original state, closing the recycling loop and reducing glycol imports. Instead of incineration with poor energy return, the recycled glycol is returned to its virgin state and can be used over and over again in industrial cooling or heating processes or as antifreeze in cars, trucks and buses. RECYCTECs method is unique and the first in the world to restore used glycol to >95% MEG.
